Product Description
That's right, folks! Put down the video game controller! Skip that rehearsal for your band! Make whatever sacrifices you must to those comic gods you hold so dear! Just make sure you're ready because Bryan Lee O'Malley and Scott Pilgrim are back! Well, a couple months have passed since the last time we caught up with our intrepid hero, but what can change in a few short months? Well, not much has... Scott's still living with his roommate Wallace Wells. He's still playing in a mediocre rock band named Sex Bob-omb. And most importantly, he's still dating the lovely Ramona Flowers while working his way through the gaggle of superpowered, superstylish, superevil ex-boyfriends determined to take him down. But something is different. Don't look now, but Scott Pilgrim may actually be getting it together. And it's a good thing, too, because Scott is about to confront Ramona's most intimidating ex yet!

Winner of the 2008 Harvey Award for BEST GRAPHIC ALBUM - ORIGINAL!

5 out of 5 stars Scott Pilgrim grows up... a bit   January 1, 2008
P. Was (Southfield, MI)
The first three Scott Pilgrim books have shown that he is immature, thoughtless and sometimes mean. Sure, he's charming and funny, but is that enough to balance out his laziness, selfishness and ignorance? That depends on the reader.

Deep thought aside, this book is hilarious and as fun as it's predecessors. Mixing comic books, kung-fu movies, music videos, and especially video games, it truly makes them into a pure fun mixture.

In this one, Scott fights another of Ramona's evil exes. Not an evil ex-boyfriend, though. to find out what that means, you'll have to read it!

5 out of 5 stars pilgrim's progress   January 7, 2008
tonci zonjic (zagreb, croatia)
after waiting for over than a year, the new scott pilgrim book pays off already at the first few pages (which are actually in color- another manga detail). without spoiling the plot, it can only be said that it's somewhat darker than the previous books, but it's still flawless in its pacing and storytelling. the probable reason for such a long delay between books is most likely because of the art- much more thought out and refined now. sometimes it works against the book (seeming a bit too clean and missing the raw power of the first book), but most of the time it's just a beautiful book.

in any case, still one of the best books on the market, strongly recommended for you and everyone you know (i bought four).

5 out of 5 stars Awesome!   December 28, 2008

This series is really really good. It might help to have played some Final Fantasy or similar video games to get everything, but it should be still awesome either way.

5 out of 5 stars Scott Pilgrim's AWESOME.   January 20, 2009
J. Chen (California, USA)
If you're a fan of Canada, video games, quirky humor and just pure ridiculous fun, Scott Pilgrim is for you.

As of Jan. 2009, Vol 4 is the latest in the Scott Pilgrim series from Bryan Lee O'Malley.

Scott Pilgrim follows Scott Pilgrim (SURPRISE, SURPRISE) as he goes from day to day living his life and trying to date the girl of his dreams, Ramona Flowers.

I say "trying" because he must defeat Ramona's Seven Evil Exes before he can truly date her.

I've been following Scott Pilgrim religiously since Volume 1 and it's been nothing but fun since.

Scott Pilgrim's easily my favorite comic book character and the fact that he's stupid yet lovable only makes him more awesome.

5 out of 5 stars Cartoonist and Graphic Novel of the Year for 2008   March 24, 2009
Samax Randolph (DFW, TX)
the ghettoManga Cartoonist of the Year Award for 2008 goes to Brian Lee O'Malley writer/artist of the OGN series Scott Pilgrim. Part four of the series "Scott Pilgrim Gets It Together" was voted the 2008 OGN of the Year.

Explaining the appeal of Scott Pilgrim is not difficult. it's a book about a twenty-something slacker who falls in Luh... Luh... who really likes this delivery girl named Ramona who just so happens to take short cuts through Scott's dreams (there's a really good subspace portal that passes through there...). the problem is he can only date Ramona if he agrees to vanquish her Seven Evil Ex-boyfriends, but that's okay, 'cause Scott also happens to have MAD fightin' skills!

as you may have noticed, Scott Pilgrim is filled with hijinx, action, and small to medium doses of mushy stuff! in "Gets It Together", Scott and Ramona wrestle with the L word (no, not lesbian!), Scott's band gets a chance to record, and Scott is stalked by a mysterious swordsman... good times! OH! and Scott faces off with another of Ramona's Evil Exes who's a little different than the others. the events of this volume force Scott to grow up (a little... he ACTUALLY gets a JOB!) and foreshadows his eventual meeting with Gideon (the evilest Ex of them all)in part 6 quite nicely!

O'Malley takes advantage of the OGN format (popularized by the mass importing of manga) as well as anyone i've ever read. the pacing and storytelling in Scott Pilgrim would be very, very difficult to pull off in any other format. O'malley's art is deceptively cartoony, like a cross between Schulz's Peanuts, Waterson's Calvin and Hobbes and your favorite fighting video game. O'Malley combines humor, action and adolescent sweetheart drama as well as onyone since Stan Lee and Romita on classic Amazing Spiderman. Really, just buy the books. the 200 plus page joints are available for ten bucks apiece on Amazon, and well worth the money! start with Scott Pilgrim, Vol. 1: Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Life and by the time you get to this one, you will be a total Zombie for the talented Mr. Pilgrim!

peace.
samax.
