Non-con seems to be a somewhat popular plot device in yaoi, as evidenced in Volume 1 of Breath, parts of Scandalous Seiryo University, and Black Sun. This book uses that plot device throughout the ENTIRE manga. Having said that, we are introduced to our two main characters, Tohru Akiyoshi, on the student council, cheerful, a dishrag, willing to do any job that needs to be done, and Fuuta Naruse, the new student, the prettiest boy in the school, long lashes, and puppy dog eyes that cause knees to bend and every command issued to be met. Of all the boys in the school to set his sights on he chooses Akiyoshi, who already has a complex about not being very masculine looking. Fuuta pleads with Akiyoshi to be his friend, but Akiyoshi firmly but gently refuses. A transformation comes over Fuuta, never having not gotten his way, and Akiyoshi's world takes a complete 180 degree turn and will never be the same.
Akiyoshi is too embarrassed to say anything about his "loving" treatment at the hands of this sweet mesmerizing student. What he can't believe himself is how into it he got. I was wondering how the author was going to start the conclusion but when we get to chapter 5 WOW!!! And, Akiyoshi is beginning to change, as evidenced when Fuuta doesn't pursue him as he previously did, and Akiyoshi wonders if Fuuta is cheating on him. Fuuta's declaration to Akiyoshi at the end of the book makes everything clear.
This book has sex in it, but not explicit. I found this book wonderfully entertaining and each time I reread it I find something new. And those eyes, those beautiful dewy eyes!!!!

This one is indeed a lovely surprise. And thank you Blu for the beautiful coloured inserts. 2 pages of gorgeous guys especially the first one (grin..). Looking at these pages, the front and back covers before I started did make me wonder and what a nice little "shock" it turned out to be.
Fuuta and Akiyoshi is one cute couple. So there is non-con but how else would this story works if there is none as it is the very essence of the seme himself. This evil chihuahua as he alternates between an angel and the devil is pure evil fun! Love the so expressive facial expressions! And the poor uke does want the forceful attention even if he did not know at first. The sex is not explicit but it is not missed as I enjoy the dynamics between the 2 guys as their relationship grows from the 1st chapter "encounter", with its non-con, to the last chapter "maturation", with the uke trying to please his seme. There is one self masturbation and even if not explicit it is sexy. Both seme/uke are very likable and Fuuta is one captivating character!
And I love the way the seme watches over his guileless uke, whether it is defending him against one spiteful teacher or a group of squealing and equally spiteful girls, getting rid off one manipulative sophomore or one pervert senior. Chapter 5 entitled Incubation is indeed one lovely revelation.
As for the artwork it is lovely, the facial expressions so vivid. The little and quite unusual chibis popping up here and there is fun. My only complaint are the so very small words in the speech ballon of the last 3 unconnected pages. Cute Devil is unique with a little twist and wonderfully refreshing. Do not miss it.

I absolutely loved this manga. SO it has non con throughout, usually something I can not possibly stand and do not agree with, but this manga-ka gives it a humorous twist. Akiyoshi is an effeminate boy with a complex, and has sympathy for Fuuta the school's pretty boy, who is treated as anythinig but a man, until he shows interest in him. Fuuta's insistance in maintaininig some kind of relationship with Akiyoshi is hilarious. Every time Fuuta forces Akiyoshi into intimate relations its obvious that Akiyoshi isn't complaining. As stated by the character himself, he becomes shameless. Anyway this has officially become one of my favorite yaoi manga. For once, the pretty boy is the seme and the more masculine one is the uke. Although things aren't exactly as they seem, and appearances change. But enough, I don't want to give away amymore of the plot. Just read this if you are a yaoi fanatic like I am. It is a must read.
