Product Description R to L (Japanese Style). Meet your knights in shining darkness. Cross Adademy is attended by two groups of students: the Day Class and the Night Class. At twilight, when the students of the Day Class return to their dorm, they cross paths with the Night Class on their way to school. Yuki Cross and Zero Kiryu are the Guardians of the school, protecting the Day Class from the Academy's dark secret: the Night Class is full of vampires! After trying to recall her past, Yuki's hallucinations become more vivid and she tries to strangle Zero during a fit of madness. Locked in her room, all she can see is a world dyed in blood, but Kaname comes for her. He tells her it's time to wake up and sinks his fangs into her neck…

Guilty secret. November 4, 2009 Jessie Potts (Terre d'Ange) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
Ok so I have a guilty secret... I'm ok with what I found out about Kaname and Yuki... gross right? I do read a lot of Egyptian and Greek myths so the concept isn't new or exciting. Vampire 8 leaves us with not a cliff hanger ending so much as too much information, then a sudden black out. You find yourself gasping for breath with everything that was disseminated, then it gets taken away and not to be revealed until next year.
Wow, Zero plays a very small role, but his relationship with Yuki is becoming strained to the point of breaking apart completely. And Kaname, I don't blame him and I don't really think of him as self serving. He plays a political game yes, but ultimately everything he does and plans to do is to build a world where Yuki will be safe. That's the reason he founded the Cross Academy, that's the reason he protects her and loves her, everything is for her. Man I'm telling you people I want to be Yuki.
This manga got 5 stars because it divulged more information then the last installment, and had more going on then the smoke and shadows from book 7. The author/illustrator is also my top favorite and if you haven't already check out Meri Puri... fantastic, also the anime is also to die for.
Ok, ok, one last thing, there are absolutely amazing drawings of Kaname and Yuki on the chapter pages of the manga.... woah... that's all I can say!

LOVED IT!!!!!!! January 16, 2010 Vonetta L. Hill 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Oh My Goodness. This volume was probably the best out of all of them. It has been awhile since I have read the book (waiting on Vol 9), but can actually still picture that scene where Yuki is starting to "wake up" from her dream. I was a little grossed out about the whole brother/sister thing, but the way that it was explained was that she was raised with the family, but she was not his true blood sister. Yes she is part of the same family, but not his actual sister. It was confusing to the point I had to re-read that scene over again. But it was really romantic when he told her to "wake up" and them he bit her. Flash forward a little and she drinks from him. A true love story.
This volume also answered the question on why Yuki didn't turn into a vampire since Zero was not considered a creature of the night. In a previous volume it was mentioned that if a person was bitten by a vampire, then that is the level vampire they would turn into. Yuki never turned into anything. But now we know why.
I feel bad for Zero in a way because Yuki has always been with him and sorta taken care of him. He now has to make the very dangerous decision of whether to continue to care for her or to try and kill her.
I really do like Kaname and even Zero was on my liking list. Now things have taken a turn and now hearts are going to be put to the test.
Can't wait til Feb. for the next volume. We want it and we want it now.
Keep being creative. Thank you.
