"Warriors: Ravenpaw's Path #1: Shattered Peace" by Erin Hunter is a very, very, very good book. It is a great graphic novel adventure book about Ravenpaw and Barley. It has been a long time since Ravenpaw gave up his life with Thunderclan and moved into the barn with his friend Barley. Their quiet, everyday life changes when some mysterious cats ask for shelter. The cats stay a few days, leave, and then come back, but not in peace. Will Ravenpaw and Barley be able to protect their home from these intruders?
Ravenpaw and Barley try to fight back to reclaim their home, but they are outnumbered and out powered by the mysterious intruders. The cats take over, even killing all the chickens. Barley and Ravenpaw try to find shelter at Moonstone. During this time, Ravenpaw has a dream in which three cats who have died tell him to go to Thunderclan for help. What will happen next?
There was tons of detail in the drawings. You can really tell from the drawings what the cats' personalities are like and what they were thinking.
I would recommend "Warriors: Ravenpaw's Path #1: Shattered Peace" by Erin Hunter to people who like adventure and cats. I think I am going to read this book over and over again!

My daughter (currently 8) is slowly starting the main Warriors novel series, in part thanks to the manga. These are a great lead-in to get reluctant readers hooked on the world and the characters and ease them into reading the novels.
My daughter has read all the Warriors graphics, but this one in particular seemed to really catch her interest. She sat and read it straight through in a single day, something she rarely does. For that alone I would recommend it!
Enjoyed this as much as the others in the series February 12, 2010
